Parito Coastal Yoga Retreat

Kia Ora and Welcome to Parito Coastal Yoga Retreat

Parito Yoga Retreat is devoted to honouring and nurturing the life essence, wholeness, and well-being of people and the land.

Parito is located on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand, in the community of Ruapuke, near Raglan, an hour from Hamilton and 2-3 hours from Auckland.  Karioi is the maunga (mountain) who watches over Parito and surrounding lands. Parito, surrounded by nature, looks northward to Karioi and the bushlands encircling her and looks westward towards Tangaroa (Tasman sea) and Karewa (Gannet Island).

Parito is looking for new Kaitiaki/guardians who would love to assume ownership and guardianship for this piece of organic paradise.  (This means Parito is being sold.)

About Parito for sale:

There are 2.0005 hectares (approx. five acres) of land. The land is partly covered with bush, has an orchard, a stream and space for gardens. Water is supplied from a spring and also rainwater. Ruapuke Beach is approximately 10 mins walk away over farmland.

Parito is off grid – with solar power and solar hot water systems. Included is a near new generator and a wet back on the wood stove. There is a floor area of 144sq m – two bedrooms plus 40 sq m multipurpose space. There is also a large deck surrounding a large proportion of the house.

The aspiration of Parito has been to nurture the well-being of land and people, with:

       Application of organic Permaculture principles is used to produce organically grown food and nurture the land;

       Recycled and/or eco-sourced materials used in building and day to day life;

       House designed to maximise passive solar heating;

       Vermiculture waste system handles all the organic household waste.

Parito has been building the health and well-being of the soil at Parito since 2002 when we arrived here.  We have been able to produce richly nutritious and deeply flavoured organic vegetables from the gardens.  There are well over 100 Heritage fruit trees in the orchard and through the property.  These have been raised or saved from ancient sources for their flavour, disease resistance and high nutritional value.  We have chosen these varieties to offer a flow of food through the seasons. There is no organic certification, but we have been growing here applying principles of permaculture and organic growing and living since 2002.

Parto has been operating as a Retreat between 2008 and 2013 with active operational website.

Please feel free to have a look through the website to see the way we have been running the Retreat previously.
